JOB TITLE:

MS Assistant Track Coach

REPORTS TO:

Middle School Principal, Activities Director, Head Coach

                       

REQUIREMENTS           

Education: BA/BS Education (preferred)

 

Experience Desired: Coaching and teaching experience desired.

 

Physical: Hand-eye/ mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. The ability to travel between locations.

 

Other: Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries college theory course in sport coaching. High school/college participation preferred.  Teaching assignment in building preferred.

                                                                               

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  1. Supervises dressing rooms and playing area during and following periods of team participation.
  2. Remains with students and supervises when traveling to away games.
  3. Cares for athletes and injured athletes.
  4. Cares for and maintains equipment and annual inventories.
  5. Prepares award lists and collects athletic fees.
  6. Works closely with custodians in control at facilities.
  7. Prepares list when teams are taken out of school to participate in athletic contest.
  8. Maintains a staff relationship with other coaches.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Principal, or Activities Director.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work inside and outside. Possibly subjected to extremes of cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation. Climatic Environment: Some district classrooms and work areas are not climate controlled and are subject to extremes of temperature and humidity.

 

A post-offer criminal background check is required.
