ASSISTANT BOYS BASKETBALL COACH

REQUIREMENTS
Education: BA/BS Education (preferred)
Experience Desired: Coaching and teaching experience desired.
Physical: Hand-eye/ mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. The ability to travel between locations.
Other: Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries college theory course in sport coaching. High school/college participation preferred. Teaching assignment in building preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Assists in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics.
- Works in conjunction with Head Coach in determining athlete participation during practice and games, including playing time at the respective levels.
- Operates within the policies of the Big 8 Conference and the SDHSAA.
- Maintains a staff relationship with other coaches.
- Assists with fund-raising activities as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS
Both inside and outside. Possibly subjected to extremes of cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.
CLIMATIC ENVIRONMENT
Some district classrooms and work areas are not climate controlled and are subject to extremes of temperature and humidity.
