Band Activities Assistant (Part-time)

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Experience Desired: Band teaching experience / student teaching experience preferred
Physical: This position requires constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent repetitive motions with the wrists, hands and fingers, sitting, walking, talking, and keyboarding. The position requires frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, speaking, turning, grasping, and carrying.
Other: Piano, wind and percussion proficiency. Strong organization, communication and interdisciplinary skills. Demonstrated ability to follow Board policy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Works with Head Band Director to prepare for marching band competitions/ parades/festivals, & pep band.
- Assists with rehearsing band sectionals, combined bands, and group lessons.
- Assists with marching band summer camp and marching season including the use and monitoring of percussion, wind and flag technicians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Both inside and outside. Possibly subjected to extremes of cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.
A post-offer criminal background check is required.
