REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience Desired: Some experience working with children.
Physical: Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination. Frequent walking, keyboarding, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, reaching, stooping, and turning. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Other: Ability to work cooperatively and congenially with others, to follow written and verbal directions. Good organizational skills preferred. Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, email, and internet. Ability to keep student information confidential. Adhere to District’s Policies and Procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Responsible for the daily management and operations of the assigned classroom in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- Reviews with principal, or designee, all plans, duties, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Teaches the outlined lesson as provided by the classroom teacher.
- Maintains as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which classroom teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Communicates with the classroom teacher following the assignment.
- Promotes a positive image of the West Central School District.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
A post-offer criminal background check is required.

This job performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions as outlined in District policy and/or procedure.
